Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

Version 1.0

Plain-language summary

Nyaya Saathi is an AI-powered legal drafting and research assistant — not a law firm and not a substitute for a qualified advocate. You are responsible for reviewing everything the AI generates before using it. We store your case data only in your own browser. We charge a subscription fee for the Pro plan. These terms are governed by Indian law.

Read the full terms below. If anything is unclear, write to us at info@legalaidai.in.

01 Parties & Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between Uniqe Corporation (GSTIN: 09AEFPK6657L2ZV, operating as LegalAidAI) (“we”, “us”, “Company”) and you, the individual or entity accessing or using the Nyaya Saathi platform available at www.legalaidai.in (“you”, “User”).

By creating an account, clicking “I agree”, or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree — do not use the Service

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not create an account or use the platform. Continued use after any update to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

1.1 Two Separate Acts of Agreement

In compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDPA”) and the DPDP Rules 2025, consent to these Terms of Service and consent to the processing of your personal data are two separate acts:

02 Eligibility — Who May Use the Service

2.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Nyaya Saathi. This requirement is mandatory under the DPDP Rules 2025, which prohibit processing of personal data of children without verifiable parental consent. By registering, you confirm you are 18 or older. If we discover an account belongs to a person under 18, we will immediately suspend it and delete all associated data.

2.2 Jurisdiction

The Service is operated from India and is primarily intended for users in India. You are responsible for compliance with local laws if you access the Service from outside India.

2.3 Professional Plans

The Advocate Studio (Pro Plan) is intended for use by persons who are enrolled advocates under the Advocates Act, 1961, law students, in-house legal counsels, and other legal professionals. By subscribing to the Advocate or Corporate plan, you represent that you are using the Service in a professional legal capacity.

03 The Service — What It Is and Is Not

Critical Disclaimer — Not Legal Advice

Nyaya Saathi is an AI-powered legal drafting and research tool. It is not a law firm, not an advocate, and does not provide legal advice as defined under the Advocates Act, 1961 or any applicable law.

All content generated by the AI — including drafts, research outputs, citations, and legal analysis — is a starting point for professional review, not a final legal work product. The Company accepts no responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated content.

Every document generated by Nyaya Saathi must be reviewed by a qualified, enrolled advocate before filing or reliance. You are solely responsible for any document you submit to a court, regulatory body, counterparty, or any other person.

3.1 What the Service Provides

3.2 Bar Council of India — Professional Responsibility

For advocate users, the Bar Council of India Rules (Chapter II, Part VI, Rule 7) impose a duty of confidentiality and professional responsibility. The use of Nyaya Saathi does not reduce or transfer your professional obligations. You remain fully responsible for:

04 Accounts & Registration

4.1 Accuracy of Information

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your account information updated. Providing false information, including impersonating another person or misrepresenting your professional status, is grounds for immediate account termination.

4.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at info@legalaidai.in if you suspect any unauthorised access. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorised use of your account where you have not exercised reasonable care.

4.3 One Account Per Person

Each account is for the use of a single individual. Sharing account credentials or using one account for multiple persons is prohibited and may result in termination.

4.4 Session Security

For your protection, the platform automatically signs you out after 30 minutes of inactivity. This is particularly important on shared devices. You are responsible for signing out on shared or public computers.

05 Personal Data — Consent & Processing

5.1 Right to Withdraw Consent

You may withdraw your DPDP data processing consent at any time by requesting account deletion (Settings → My Data → Request Account Deletion, or by emailing info@legalaidai.in). Withdrawal of consent will result in deletion of your account and all associated server-side data. It will not affect data already lawfully processed before withdrawal, and will not affect data we are required to retain by law (e.g., GST records for 8 years).

5.2 Children

As stated in Section 2.1, we do not knowingly process data of persons under 18. The DPDP Rules 2025 require verifiable parental consent before processing any personal data of a child. If you are under 18, you must not use this Service.

07 AI-Generated Content — Ownership & Disclaimer

7.1 Ownership of Output

Documents, drafts, research outputs, and other content generated by the AI in response to your queries (“Output”) are provided to you for your use. You retain ownership of the content you input. Output does not constitute a work authored by the Company. The Company makes no copyright claim over Output.

7.2 Accuracy Disclaimer

AI language models can make errors including but not limited to: citing cases that do not exist, misstating legal provisions, missing recent amendments, and producing content that is plausible-sounding but legally incorrect. The Company makes no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, currency, or fitness for purpose of any Output.

7.3 Citation Verification

Nyaya Saathi includes a citation verification tool that cross-checks case names against the Indian Kanoon database. This reduces but does not eliminate the risk of inaccurate citations. You must independently verify every case citation before filing any document with a court or tribunal.

7.4 Not a Substitute for Professional Judgment

Output is a starting point for professional review. It does not account for jurisdiction-specific local rules, recent unreported judgments, individual client circumstances, or strategic considerations. A qualified advocate must review all Output before it is used in practice.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for its intended purpose during your subscription period.

You may not reproduce, distribute, republish, or create derivative works from platform content (including AI-generated Output that incorporates our proprietary templates) without prior written consent, except for your own personal or professional legal use.

10 Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party platforms including Anthropic (AI processing), Firebase/Google (authentication), Razorpay (payments), Indian Kanoon (case law), Resend (email), and Netlify (hosting). Your use of these integrations is also subject to the respective third party’s terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.

Specifically regarding Anthropic’s Claude API: your queries are processed under Anthropic’s commercial API terms, which prohibit use of API inputs or outputs for model training. Your queries are processed in real-time and discarded — they are not stored by Anthropic for training purposes.

11 Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

11.1 No Warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

11.2 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, the Company’s aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Service — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise — shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

16 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes — changes that affect your rights, our liability, or the core nature of the service — we will:

Minor changes (typos, clarifications that do not change meaning, new regulatory citations) may be made without prior notice and the “Last updated” date will be revised. Continued use after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance.
